The London Beer Run

An 8km Group Fun Run to learn about London's boozy past and present!

  • 35 British pounds
  • Meet at Ye Olde Chshire Cheese, 145 Fleet St, EC4A 2BU.

Service Description

Ever heard of the beer tsunami that swept through the streets of London in 1814? Over 1.5 million litres of beer flooded London in the great London Beer Flood, the result of a bizarre industrial accident. Join us for the next London Beer Run and hear more tales of London's boozy past and present, while working up a thirst for local brew. A pint is included at the end of every tour! Learn about London's historical pubs, inns and taverns over a scenic 8km sightseeing running tour. Enjoy an afternoon run through London's liquid history, pausing at some of the city's finest pubs, inns and taverns and following in the footsteps of some of the greatest creative and literary minds in the world. Learn some surprising facts about London and beer along the way, working up a thirst as you go! The London Beer Run is suitable for all abilities, the emphasis is on city touring and having fun, rather than on running speed! Starts at: Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, 145 Fleet St, London EC4A 2BU Ends at: London City Runners, 130 Druid St, London SE1 2HH Tickets: £35 Included: Sightseeing running tour with tour guide, fun and laughter, pint at the end! Timings: Meet at 2pm outside the venue for briefing, and after a short introduction tours will commence, with staggered start times for different pace groups. Each 8km tour usually lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours depending on the pace of each group. Please note that if you prefer a pint before setting off we recommend arriving at the venue earlier at 1pm and then meeting us outside the venue at 2pm. Choice of three paces on the day, with plenty of stops for historical commentary (as well as one or two half pints!) along the way. Tickets are limited and cost £35 per person. Over 18s only! One free print is included at the end of the tour (wine or a soft drink is available as an alternative). Guides will also suggest one or two stops for an optional half pint (not included) along the route. Please note that this is a Beer Running Tour, but not a pub crawl!
